Hi! And welcome to my channel! I am a marine biologist working hard to tackle and prevent seafood fraud and illegal fishing practices. I use genetics to develop methods that can be used to catch and fend off fraud in the seafood supply chain. I am also using satellite imagery to identify instances of illegal and unregulated fishing. I am originally specialised in Arctic marine biology and have a BSc in zoology & environmental biology and an MSc in Arctic marine ecology, and I am currently working towards completing my PhD. I am passionate about science communication and I created this channel to share with you bits and pieces of the research world as I know it. Please follow me on Twitter or Instagram if you’d like to have ongoing news on my whereabouts!
Discover amazing animals, bizarre behaviors and the fantastic features of our coastlines, every fortnight with Prof. Charles Griffiths, his son Matt, and Ben the labradoodle. Emeritus Professor Charles Griffiths introduces us to the amazing, diverse natural world that lies on our coastlines. We visit different shores and explore the wide range of habitats, animals and plants that occur there. From limpets that farm the rocks to alien-like worlds of colonial organisms, Charles shows us a hidden world that most of us have never realised was on our doorsteps.

Ocean + Science + Exploration = "CHANGING SEAS" Changing Seas is a public television series produced by WPBT2/South Florida PBS in Miami, Florida. The series takes viewers on an exciting adventure to the heart of our liquid planet. The oceans cover roughly 70 percent of the earth's surface and they contain 97 percent of the world's water supply. Nevertheless, only five percent of their vast expanse has been explored 00 leaving in secret a deep, liquid wilderness yet to be discovered. Changing Seas goes to sea with explorers and scientists as they uncover new information that could lead to scientific breakthroughs. This documentary series lets viewers experience first-hand how oceanographers and other experts study earth's last frontier, and it sheds light on how human activities are threatening ocean resources. Narrated by Peter Thomas (Seasons 1 - 6) and Craig Sechler (Seasons 7 - Present.)
A 90 minute film directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot. Can we imagine a film that would change the way people look at the ocean? Can we explain simply, to everyone, the greatest natural mystery of our planet? And lastly, can we help our children believe in a better and more sustainable world tomorrow? This is the triple challenge of a new cinema adventure signed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and editor- in-chief Michael Pitiot, who brings with him the scientific missions of TARA, a unique pool of researchers, oceanographers and biolo- gists from several countries. Thanks to its astonishing photography, the film takes us on a magnificent and unprecedented journey into the heart of the least known regions of our planet. The film narrates the most marvelous and also the most terrifying human experiences of our time. Filmed in extreme geographical conditions all over the globe, it describes the modern Odyssey of people who go out to discover their blue planet.
